I’m a realist with a dash of optimist. Sometimes, it switches. I become super optimistic with a sprinkle of realistic. Either way, I think it’s a pretty good combination. Like anyone though, it’s easy to get pulled down into pessimism when facing unbelievable obstacles in life.
Knocking things out on your to-do list is more than satisfying; it’s almost therapeutic. How awesome is it to grab a pen and check off item after item, especially in one day? It makes you feel powerful, invincible…like you are your very own Superwoman.
And you are.
I celebrated my 23rd birthday a few days ago and went all out.
Have you ever wanted something so bad? You hoped for it and maybe even dreamed about it, only to not receive it?
Since we were kids, we were told we won’t get everything we want and “life’s not fair,” but that doesn’t change that you’re left feeling crushed, discouraged and even angry at God. You subconsiously check off yet another thing God didn’t come through for you for.
This piece is not for the Christian who is in the business of manipulating God for their wants. This piece is for the Christian that has already established: God isn’t a genie. This is for the Christian that knows God can do exceedingly abundantly all that we could ever ask for or think (Ephesians 3:20) but finds themselves questioning if He would really do so for them. This is for the Christian who trusts that God has plans of future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11), but they just have no idea where in the world it is or when in the world that plan will come.
I am queen of sales. I can find discounts like it’s nobody’s business. And I can wait on an item to hit clearance with the patience you can’t even fathom.
It’s funny because as much as I love clothes, I barely shop! When I do, the piece has to absolutely be worth it. My favorite places to shop easy online are ASOS and Missguided. And I never shop there without my UNiDAYS code.
Turnaround. Merriam-Webster defines this term as: “the action of receiving, processing, and returning something.”
In our vernacular, we’d call it “comeback game.”
