I’m a realist with a dash of optimist. Sometimes, it switches. I become super optimistic with a sprinkle of realistic. Either way, I think it’s a pretty good combination. Like anyone though, it’s easy to get pulled down into pessimism when facing unbelievable obstacles in life.
What do I do when those things threaten to tear me down?A whole lot. Why? Because you have your whole life to FIGHT for, girl.
I begin declaring biblical affirmations over my life, I spend lots of quiet time, I replace voids with service and I always always always find great refuge in my amazing friends. I go from feeling dry to refreshed after being intentional about surrounding myself with the things and people that uplift me.
It’s easy to see only negative things but you’ll quickly find yourself swallowed up in a dark hole with your future seemingly out of sight. I rather look at the brighter side of things. It takes a lot more effort but it’s so difficult because it will pay off in the end. Cliche? Yes. But oh so very true. You do have a hope and a future. So change that outlook of yours!

Looking through rose-tinted shades doesn’t have to mean you only view life as lilies and daisies. It means that despite the drought, you choose to see the seed sprouting up, the root taking hold and the glory of the flower in full bloom.

These shades from Epica Clothing, obviously inspired me for the topic of this post! I immediately put them on and started seeing my surroundings in such a better light. Clearly, it’s because they’re tinted! But I was fascinated of all the many colors I began to see in a place that looked dreary only moments before. After I took them off, I couldn’t help but think of the importance of mentally, physically and spiritually bracing yourself putting on your full armor to take on those life obstacles.
I paired the sunnies with this super chic top (also from Epica clothing) and these pants I had in my closet forever! It was perfect since I was able to incorporate apparel in my wardrobe and be comfy. I wore them to an event I spoke at empowering young women to keep on fighting not only for life, but their dreams. How fitting right?
Don’t ever stop fighting for yours!
