#GIRLBOSS, Call the Shots with Maybelline New York

January 24, 2017

My favorite part of my makeup routine is tending to my eyes. I play on my almond shape with black eyeliner to create the perfect cat eye (when God permits haha). I add neutrals and golds shadow to pronounce my dark brown hue. And I take my time to accentuate my lashes with mascara because that’s my favorite part! Even on days I barely have anything on, mascara remains my go-to in order to come alive.

It’s so funny because as a kid, I loved Lil Wayne. Like, borderline obsessed. He had a song that says “T is for Tara, too much mascara” and I’d be so excited because, hey! That’s me! Except I don’t wear too much haha. But I definitely do love me some mascara.

That’s why I’m super excited to be sharing the new Maybelline’s New York The Colossal Big Shot Express mascara.

Boss ladies need boss thangs and this hits the mark. The backstage-inspired bad boy amps up the volume, lifts and separates those pretty lashes of yours with just one coat. Your end result? Full and undeniably bold lashes that won’t clump, smudge or dry out. Even your tiniest lash gets love!

As for eyeshadow, feast your eyes upon Maybelline New York 24karat Nudes Palette. Bring out your eyes with this beautiful array of iridescent, show-stopping gold neutrals. There are 12 gorgeous shades that play on gold, bronze, and copper. From matte to shimmery, the various shades are richly pigmented — perfect to smolder your next conquest!

Oh, a girlboss can’t forget eyeliner! I love the new Master Precise liner because it’s smooth, thin and makes creating the cateye easy. You can go hard and get creative or keep it simple. Either way, you’ll be bold with this intense black.

  • When you get a seat at the table 😭🙌🏾 Seeing my name there reminded me of all my late nights working on my website. Reminded me of my continuous battle of finding balance with all my side jobs, church responsibilities and simply taking care of myself. Reminded me of those times I️ just felt “blah” because I️ was doing all of the right things and making connections with all the right people but wasn’t yet presented THE opportunity. I️ have a long way to go but I️ have that now. My first post as a @teenvogue fashion writer is up and I have all the feels. God is working. On His own timing, but He’s working — He has never stopped ❤️ (SB: iPhone won’t let me be great but ima talk of God’s goodness anyway! 😂)
