It makes my heart smile receiving “I love you” texts. The “I love you’s,” the “I’m thinking of you’s,” the “I’m praying for you” texts. And just as much as I appreciate getting them, I enjoy sending them. At random, of course. It’s sometimes much more meaningful when you catch them by surprise.
It started when I was in high school. I’d have an urge so heavy to reach out and let whoever that was on my heart know that they mattered, they’re appreciated and they’re loved. I used to be real stingy with it, at first. For me, I didn’t see the point in sharing the message until God slapped me in the face like, but why not? What does showing love take out of you?
Nothing. It takes nothing.

Love is needed, especially now. A lot of us are so wired in the world’s “me, myself and I” mentality that the mere thought of showing vulnerability is laughable. Or, maybe you were like me and you just don’t want to deal with the mush. That’s fine and all but you do need to get in touch with your emotions. You also have to get past those emotions in order to fully accept the true love Christ has laid down for us all. Remember, God is love. And if we’re true representatives of His, then Love lives in us and it should spill out from our hearts and into the world.
Anywhere. Everywhere.
To anyone and everyone…even if they don’t “deserve it”

I barely have much time for myself but thanks to nudges from God and my Christ-led planner keeping me in check, I’m constantly reminded to reach out to my family, friends and my youth. I’m even devoting my Friday afternoons to connect or reconnect with work and social media friends! This photo was taken during one of my meet ups 🙂
Whenever I’m around my family, I’m always overwhelmed by the joy I feel and all the love that just goes on and on and on. Then life gets in the way and next thing you know, it’s been months since you’ve checked in. From now on, don’t get too busy where you neglect your relationships! Say it out loud with me! I’m all about elevating my brand and working on self. However, I also believe in sacrifice. There’ll be times where you put someone’s needs before your own and that’s okay. You don’t know who needs you right now.

People want to feel loved. They want to feel like they’re not forgotten. Be that for them.

Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.
