Happy May! It’s all about renewal, choosing your own path way and moving on.
As we pack up boxes to leave college and fill up suitcases for much needed vacations, I know the one thing we’re all worried about in the back of our mind is “what’s next”? “Which way should I go?”
If you’re moving on to a new stage in your life (graduating, job, internships) — take a breath and appreciate the moment that you’re in. We get so ready to jump to the next thing and make plans without reveling in the freedom spring/summer brings.
It took me a while, but I finally have my footing on my campus. Before I was stumbling along, asking everyone and searching everywhere for advice. Should I change my major? Am I doing this right? What about internships?
I had this intense fear of missing out. I wanted a pat on the back or nudge into the right direction.
On top of that, I couldn’t stop asking for advice! Even when it was my path to go on, it was hard for me to confidently go my own way. I didn’t want to look back and regret anything.
That desire to dabble and experience everything will actually cause you to not see opportunities for what they are. I genuinely love to be sure about what I’m doing from clothes to ordering food at a restaurant.
Looking at the menu, I see so many amazing options and don’t want to settle. Because there could be something better, more fulfilling, a new dish that could possibly be my favorite.
That’s the thing, life is full of endless possibilities. You’re not going to be able to do everything you want to. That may be in your plan, but who knows what God has in store?
You don’t have to do the same things as your friends. You don’t have to live up to expectations that were not set for you. Do your own thing and respect that it’s what you’re doing.
It may look desirable now but some things just aren’t meant for you.
When you’re at the point where moving forward is all you can do, look around you. Being comfortable in doing things around unfamiliar faces will get you places.
It’s in the moments where we over-plan, over-think, over-worry, that we end up not moving at all. Now that is how you miss out on life. There will always be this way, or that way, but just make sure you’re going a way.
We should constantly be evolving and creating but take some time to live in your personal spring. Even though you want your life laid out for you or for your daily horoscope to be true- the current place that you’re is the right place for you in this moment.
Much Love,
Medge
