Have you ever had a deep, deep late-night talk with someone and the next morning, you wake up feeling pillow-light? You find it easier to hop out off the bed and get your day started in eagerness and anticipation? Even with the stormy skies, the slushy sidewalks you must tread through and those endless snow days threatening your already rigid schedules, those conversations have you finding sunshine in the most unexpected places.
That’s been me, especially in this last quarter. I’m actually in awe of the ways God has shown me who is for me. He really has been showing out in regards to the people in my life who come through for me. From my family, to girlfriends to guy friends that have blown my mind with new perspectives, I am so grateful to have a crew to keep my grounded, to pray for me and uplift me in any way they can.
It’s one thing to know your worth. It’s another thing to know and create a place solely for those deserve a place in your life. That doesn’t mean to love any less. It just means be careful with your heart – not everyone should be allowed access. There will be those who come in, wreak havoc and leave you a mess. But thank God for always revealing where exactly you need to clean up…and to help you with the pieces.
I’ve never had to “cut-off” anyone in my life until this year. And while it is difficult, I know it’s required of me to walk forward into my new season. It’s a whole different story when God is expecting you to forcibly remove the very thing your heart has been holding onto. It is freeing to release and oh so necessary. I do not want to remain in the same place because of stubbornness. Disobedience in one aspect of my life will undoubtedly trickle down into the other areas and I cannot afford that. My future is waiting on me.
And your future is waiting on you. Have you taken inventory? Of your friends, your family, yourself? Are you being stubborn with your spiritual life? Is there anything nudging at you, pressing you to get it done before the new year?
Expect the Unexpected
I’m finding the end of the year more exciting day by day. It’s in the end that you can witness the unbelievable ways in which God will show up and show out for you in such little time. HIS time. Even if there’s one day left in 2017, best believe God can work out a crazy miracle in your life. It’s crunch time. Leave room for Him to work and expect the unexpected. You won’t even see it coming!
