In my Creative Writing class, we had about 10 minutes to construct a humorous prose or poem about something random. Good thing I was scrolling through Instagram and was bombarded by photos from this year’s fashion week! I wouldn’t have known what to write about. Guess I was inspired 😉 I decided to share it here with my fellow bloggers and fashion lovers. Here’s my “Ode to Fashion Week”.

Ode to Fashion Week

Joyful, joyful

Noise

We adore thee

Sounds of the pitter-patter of heels on the runway

The tapping of those who can envision themselves strutting up there

The flawlessly applied makeup –

To the perfect styling of hair

Everyone’s there

Tresses trimmed

Lipstick luscious

Nails neatly enamored

Outfits tailored

Shoes shined

Music murmuring

Instagram invasion

Sleepless nights

Lights bright,

Illuminating the smiles of everyone in attendance

And exposing the envy of those who wish there were

And here comes the designer,

Proud of their work,

But relieved that it’s all done

At peace but

 The pressure pounces onto the next one

Here’s to the celebrities in the front row

And for guests in the back, hoping to catch a glimpse

The photographer’s flashes

Preparing everyone for their possible debut

Street fashion

Giving previews

Stylists flourish in these streets – they are the models now

Bloggers take note and publish for the world to see

Further encouraging people with the same love as me

Oh, Fashion Week

This one’s for you

You fly right on by,

Making everyone forget the prices they paid

To meet you

Just until next season
