“You gotta get, that, dirt off your shoulder.”

Remember that oldie by Jay-Z? Of course, you do. I just had to make a reference of it because ya know, I’m wearing an “off the shoulder” dress. HA. Yes, I’m like this…deal with it 🙂

Off The Shoulder

I love off-the-shoulder everything. I find it so feminine and also, whenever I get a chance to flex that collar bone, I will! So, when I saw this Swiss Dot Off the Shoulder Dress on the Banana Republic website, I knew it had to be mine.

Shooting this particular one was a bit difficult because it doesn’t quite flatter anything but your shoulders. The fabric is airy, which I love but thank God there was a sash so I could snatch that waist!

Back to getting that dirt off your shoulder, though. Last week, I sent my lovely subscribers of The Armory Newsletter (join here for biweekly encouragement!) a message about accepting where they are in life. One of my main points was, you can’t move on if you allow the dirt of your past to stain your clothes.

A lot of us our dissatisfied with our situations but don’t do anything about it because the illusion of hopelessness, comfortability and sometimes even fear. We allow the stains to remain without any efforts of cleaning up. But it’s time.

What’s your dirt? What do you need to shake off?

Maybe it’s old expectations. Maybe it’s that draining friendship. Maybe it’s that job that dropped you without warning. Whatever it is, whatever it is that has left you reeling, whatever it is that left you in the dust…you must wipe off your slate and scrub off that speck in your eye for a new perspective. By any means necessary, do what you need to do for the sake of you! Do it, so that you can begin to fiercely embrace your future.
