The subject matter of today’s post will change your life forever. In fact, it will guarantee that you will live again.

The truth is: this earth is not our home. It’s only a morsel of what we can experience in fullness. This life we live determines where we end up: heaven or hell. We won’t enter into heaven solely by the good we’ve done but by accepting and living in the love of our Good Father.

John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son to die for us on the cross of Calvary, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.”

In this powerful verse, we see that sin separates us from God but Christ came on earth to fill the gap. The opportunity to live again is open to everyone but it is a choice we have to make individually.

Before making your decision, let us first get this out of the way: there’s no such thing as a perfect Christian.

You do not have to be perfect to accept Christ into your heart. You don’t have to be perfect even after the fact. In fact, there’s no such thing as a perfect Christian. This is a lifelong adventure and if you truly seek God, you will find that He will do a work in you.

You will fall – a lot. But that’s okay, I do, too! God will lift you up when you truly repent (turn away from your sins) and not take advantage of His mercy and grace.

Did you breathe a sigh of relief yet? I find that the idea of perfection is one of the most common reasons as to why accepting Christ doesn’t seem reasonable. Perfection isn’t expected of you.

The steps to accepting Christ are simple.

A couple of years ago, I led vacation Bible school for the youth at my church and we learned the corniest song to help us remember how to accept Christ. Now, I won’t sing it for you, but I shall write out the main points for ya.

  • Admit you’re a sinner
  • Believe Jesus died for your sins and still lives today
  • Confess that He is your Savior and your Lord

Boom. These are the ABC’s to accepting Christ.

But let’s really dig a little deeper and see what it means to admit, believe, and confess.

Admit

Romans 3:23 says, “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

As mentioned, we are all sinners and this problem we have separates from God – who is without sin (1 Peter 1:16). It’s also an issue because there’s punishment involved.

There’s a price to pay for our sins but Jesus paid it all! He offers us freedom for free.

Believe

I am a very logical person and I could never doubt God’s existence. I’ve seen what He has done in my mom’s life, my family, with me. There’s no doubt there, however, there are some times where I have trouble believing He’s a good God that will come through for me.

Are you in the same boat?

There’s a passage in the bible that reminds us we are not alone. Jesus was performing miracles and came across the father of a son who battled with an evil spirit that made him mute. The father asked Jesus if he could heal his son. And in Mark 9-23-25, Jesus replied…

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”

The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said. “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!”

Whether your issue is a lack of belief in the ways God will show up for you or if your struggle is believing He even exists at all, you too can ask Him to help your unbelief.

Go to God and He will help you! He pays so much attention to us and will take His time. He will take you by the end and carry you through your struggles and into a life of belief.

Confess

In this journey, you don’t need to go to the pope or priest to share your confessions. You can go directly to our Father with everything. When Christ died on the cross for our sins, he tore the veil. In those times, the veil separated worshippers from the throne of God. Before Christ, humankind was too dirty to enter God’s presence but now we can sit and kneel at His throne. We can learn from him, we can ask for forgiveness ourselves. We can simply be.

 Romans 10:9 says,

“If you will confess with your mouth,

“Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that

God raised Him from the dead,

you will be saved.”

Confess to God that you commit to stop living your life for yourself, and to start living it for Him.

What should I pray to receive Jesus in my heart?

You don’t need to do a special prayer but oftentimes, it’s done to solidify the deal!

All you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus is the Lord of all, and make a commitment to follow Him. That’s it! The reason I created this video is for those who are seeking to receive Jesus as their Savior and are looking for a way to do it. “The Sinners Prayer” is a common way for Bible teachers like me to guide someone into accepting Christ. Whether you say it in your heart, or say it out loud, it doesn’t matter. The choice – the decision – between you and Christ is what counts!

Pray this:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.”

Welcome to the family of Christ!

The Bible says 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

That means you are brand new! Stop carrying your shame and struggles and your past on your own. God wants to free you. His yoke is easy and his burden is light. He wants to give you rest.

For some, the desire to serve God comes instantly and for others, it takes time! t’s a journey. This isn’t just one moment; it’s for life. Accepting Christ doesn’t make life easier but it makes it so much more meaningful.
