I know you’re grieved. Angered. Hurt. Disgruntled. Maybe even feeling betrayed. Plainly, you are heartbroken over the hate that permeates this country. And I encourage beseech you to feel it. Feel it all. You have all the right to feel any or all of those things — no permission necessary. Don’t lament that you feel this way in the first place.

You are human.

A human whose country has chosen the epitome of exclusion to lead.
I knew racism existed. It’s very evident and it’s especially clear to see with social media repeatedly showing us. However, my eyes are no longer just wide, the polls peeled them back. I’m more aware now — not to the point where I’m paranoid, no. But let’s just say my vision is on a whole new level.
The election results are forcing us to see the bad in anyone that doesn’t look like us. But if we really succumb in doing so, that pushes us a million steps back. Looking at others in the lenses of jadedness will only hinder you from doing your best work and becoming the best you. Think about it: if you are constantly looking over your shoulder, how do you expect to move forward?
Feel and feel hard. But don’t allow those feelings to reside in you permanently because that’s when hate really wins.

This election has pushed me to go harder.

All of the things you’ve been doing before? It’s time to take it to the next step further. All the strides you’ve been making before the election — yeah, remember that? Take them and run. Don’t allow the bad that’s been revealed to you snuff out the good in you. Show love, be love.
This won’t stop me from glowing. And it won’t stop you. We can’t let what we know now to stop us from progressing. Remain in the pursuit of being great not just for yourself, but for humanity.

Still worried?

Please remember that everything that is for us will be. Nothing in the world, not even our skin, will keep us from getting all that God has in store for us. Nothing.
We will flourish. My hope is for the black community to truly coming together to support one another. My hope is that we extend appreciation to those who love us for who we are. But even more so, I hope the church sees this as a wake up call to unite in prayer and go out in these streets and preach our Truth. God is love and He found us all fit.
This is chaos in our eyes but it’s perfectly orchestrated in God’s hands. Keep doing what you were doing before, just go harder. Do not allow hate to hinder your path to glory. Don’t keep yourself from your own flourish.

The day after the election, God made my jaw drop.

Not with the results, no — but what He was saying in regards to our feelings about it!
“Sit quietly with Me, letting all of your fears and worries bubble up to all the surface of your consciousness. There, in the Light of My Presence, the bubbles pop and disappear. However, some fears surface over and over again, especially fear of the future. You tend to project yourself mentally into the next day, week, month, year, decade; and you visualize yourself coping badly in those times. What you are seeing is a false image, because it doesn’t include Me. Those gloomy times that you imagine will not come to pass, since My Presence will be with you at ALL times. When a future-oriented worry assails you, capture it and disarm it by suffusing the Light of My Presence into that mental image. Say to yourself, “Jesus will be with me then and there. With His help, I can cope! Then, come home to the present moment, where you can enjoy Peace in My Presence.”
Like, what?! He KNOWS, people. He understands. And you want to know what else He said through His Word?
Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and courageous. Don’t tremble! Don’t be afraid of them! The Lord your God is the one who is going with you. He won’t abandon you or leave you.
So, people…
I am not afraid. I will not cower. I will not tremble. I will not shake. God didn’t make a mistake when He created black. Or anything for that matter. You are worth loving, you are worth being protected, you are worth living. There is nothing wrong with you and everything wrong with this broken system. I hope you know that.
Now, I take even more pride (how is that possible?!) in being what I am. Why? Because the color of my skin speaks volumes.
Your voice has not been stifled. Who you are speaks daily. Therefore, continue to advance your empire, continue to manifest greatness, continue to love.

Feel it all and flourish, flourish, flourish on.

This is literally perfect. Thank you so much for the words of enlightenment and wisdom, which have finally gotten through to my currently shaken spirit and mind. If we fall into paranoia and fear, then we will fall back when we have come so far. We are all brothers and sisters, and there is love and since there is love there is hope, and I look forward to carrying that beacon of hope with everyone else who believes in positive change and unity within our diversity.
