Who Adorns Her? Zendaya Coleman

Hey guys! I just thought of an idea.

You wanna know who are under appreciated? STYLISTS. It’s rare for a stylist to receive much recognition by the public for a job well done. Then again, it is rewarding having a job you adore doing (see what I did there? Yes?). However, in an effort to give credit to the stylists that work so hard, I’ve began a segment here on adornedinarmor called, “Who Adorns Her?”

“Who Adorns Her” will feature my favorite celebrities styles and the revealing of the masterminds behind their style of dress. First up? The ultimately beautiful Zendaya Coleman.

In my Literary History class, we had to choose a work to write a research paper about. My professor was going down the list, briefly explaining the poems and essays. I heard one that piqued my interest and was SO excited. Nerd alert? Maybe. But, who cares?

Lupita: A Cinderella Story

Once upon a time, there was a young girl with ebony skin. She hated it. She hated it so much that she prayed to God every night, wishing on stars that she’d wake up lighter. She wouldn’t even look into a mirror because she knew her wish didn’t come true.

Feeling hopeless, she decided she would just have to deal with it. The little girl grew up, transforming into a young woman. That young woman was Luperella. Scratch that; that’s corny. Her name was Lupita.

You Are Loved…Even on Valentine’s Day

Hey everyone! So, I’ve been catching up with blog readers…I’ve been liking, commenting, and subscribing some more! And, one thing I definitely noticed were the Valentine’s day posts! From the styling to just mere conversation, they’re literally everywhere. If you’re alone this Valentine’s day, the posts could seem haunting, daunting. But, if you’re with a special someone, the posts could further encourage your fairy tale high. Regardless of how you’re celebrating or who you are with, know that you are loved. No matter who you are or what you have done in the past, you are loved. At your best AND at your worst, you are completely, utterly, undeniably loved.

I decided to share a Spoken Word poem that I recently posted on my channel. Hope you feel as treasured as you ought to after listening 🙂

Ode to Fashion Week

In my Creative Writing class, we had about 10 minutes to construct a humorous prose or poem about something random. Good thing I was scrolling through Instagram and was bombarded by photos from this year’s fashion week! I wouldn’t have known what to write about. Guess I was inspired 😉 I decided to share it here with my fellow bloggers and fashion lovers. Here’s my “Ode to Fashion Week”.

Lupita, In Color

Go onto Google and type in the letter “L”, then “U”, then “P” in its search box, the name “lupita nyong’o” instantly pops up, which helps because I always seem to forget where the apostrophe belongs in her last name. Lupita Nyong’o is a Yale graduate, actress and should-be model! She has been what everyone has been talking about – from celebs, to stylists to viewers at home. The Kenyan beauty came into the scene in her nominated role in 12 Years a Slave and has been owning it since then! Lupita has been making her mark in the fashion industry, constantly and pleasantly surprising everyone with her effortless looks and natural beauty. She has even been featured and has graced the covers of several major magazines such as Dujour, Vogue Italia and Vanity Fair.

This is my first post I ever really dedicated to a celebrity. The ones prior to this one are simply because I just had the opportunity to meet them. This time around, it’s different. Though I love Lupita and all her fabulous-ness, it’s not exactly all about her right now. I have some pieces of you in here…some pieces of me in here, too. You see, I wasn’t aware of my skin color until the 8th grade.

Oh, winter. With it’s biting wind’s creeping into the bottoms of your pants, it’s flakes raising bumps on your skin, it’s frost as a chimney when you speak, it’s ices creating a personal skating rink.

It’s mostly around the winter time where our moods tend to get worse. We start to feel, or at least we especially notice that we are feeling “blah”. It’s true stuff, guys. I read about it. We miss the good ol’ sun! But, my thing is…even with the sun is around, don’t you realize that we’re always just waiting on the next big thing to happen in our lives?

Christmas – over. New Year’s – over. What is there to look forward to now?
