Oh, winter. With it’s biting wind’s creeping into the bottoms of your pants, it’s flakes raising bumps on your skin, it’s frost as a chimney when you speak, it’s ices creating a personal skating rink.
It’s mostly around the winter time where our moods tend to get worse. We start to feel, or at least we especially notice that we are feeling “blah”. It’s true stuff, guys. I read about it. We miss the good ol’ sun! But, my thing is…even with the sun is around, don’t you realize that we’re always just waiting on the next big thing to happen in our lives?
Christmas – over. New Year’s – over. What is there to look forward to now?
I think…I could turn anything around and make it fashion related. It’s the same way with my faith; I can make ANYTHING about my Jesus (many can attest to that lol).
I grew up in a God-fearing household and as I grew, I knew there was one thing I was definitely passionate about: fashion. I remember receiving a sketchpad and an arrangement of pencils from my art teacher as a gift. I would draw my prom dress, skirts, jeans, and just any apparel. I said I was designing my own line. I’m more into the styling thing now, which is one of the points of this blog. Now that I gave you all a brief background, let’s wrap this up, shall we? Basically, I just really really really really like dressing up. Like. Really.
I never made a New Year’s Resolution. Ever. As a child, I didn’t see the use of it and as I look back, I have to commend the young me. Why not make a resolution? Everyone was doing it. I even have a godfather that would chastise me to make one. I didn’t know why then, but I know now.
It’s Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir
Daddy says there’s not much time
She’s been sick for quite a while And I
know these shoes will make her smile And I
Want her to look beautiful
If mama meets Jesus tonight”
“The Christmas Shoes” is one of my favorite Christmas songs. I’m not a sentimental person but I could totally relate to this song. So, whenever it comes on, I go into deep thought, usually reminiscing of the past. As a child, I would listen to this song and tear up because I was that kid in the song – one that knew there was a possibility that her mother could meet Jesus at any given time.
I know this Guy and He wants you to get to know Him too. (Notice the capitalization? That’s just how special He is.)
He writes you love letters that are signed with His name at the bottom, but you always return to sender. He looks out for you but you call it luck. He has a whole love story written out for you, but you call it a fairy tale.
